Read Across America – Book Swap Success!

Read Across America – Book Swap Success!
During the week of March 3, 2025, Lewis County Elementary School celebrated Read Across America with its annual Book Swap! Thanks to a partnership between the Family Resource Center and Coordinated School Health, Pre-K through 2nd grade had the chance to swap books and grow their personal libraries!
750 books were donated!
519 students received at least one book!
Students who brought books to swap could take home up to three books!
Supporting this initiative, the Family Resource Center received a $3,000 Dollar General Literacy Grant to enhance Book Swap and further literacy efforts in Lewis County. This funding will help provide even more resources and opportunities to promote reading among young learners.
A special thank you goes to Shannon Denton- Family Resource Center Director and Sasha Powers- Coordinated School Health Supervisor for organizing this wonderful event and helping put books in the hands of young readers.
